The selected shade width should be the window width minus 1/2 inch, with the shade height being greater than the window height. For outside mounting, the shade should be 4 inches wider than the window frame for complete coverage.

The selected roller shade size is 43"W x 72"H, resulting in a total shade width of 43 inches and a fabric width of 42 inches. This creates a 0.5-inch gap between the fabric and the top rail on each side, which can be minimized with an outside mount installation.
